Let me go *crazy on you* - not "crazy in love" - I misspoke that. This song is an absolute BANGER though, from the intro to the chorus to the bridge to the end. Insane work all around.

Okay, I'm excited to dive into this amazing song, man. Crazy in Love is compact with awesome guitar playing, really soulful and incredible singing. I love her vocal delivery in the song. Anne Wilson's voice is just insane. She's such a powerhouse. I love Nancy's guitar work in the song. It's so tasteful. And it's such a journey. Right? We got this crazy intro that kind of has nothing to do with the rest of the song. It's very technical. It's very fast. Let's go over it. Okay, so here's the intro. Here's uh Nancy Wilson's awesome intro. So very slowly it goes and then like adding extra beats there. Always going back to and then that part's wild. Wait. Insane. And then always going back to that, right? And then I like this. And then here it goes. Finally we change. And then the five chord. That's just like E7, right? But like hitting two strings at once. And then we go to D minor. Back to E, which is the V chord. The five chord is the leading chord. It wants so bad to go to and it does, right? A minor. Okay, and then we got and then we got so classic, right? And the song could have started there, right? Just like but the intro is beautiful. Okay, so let's just I'm not gonna do a whole tutorial on the intro, but the thing to really understand is that she's always doing certain themes, right? Certain motifs, so that only happens once, but then it goes. There's a big like get like we always kinda like got this like kind of like motion here. And we got so that's going from the minor four, right? Just going down the minor scale. And then that's really nice because we go to the major six. It's like a Dorian move. Nice touch with the acoustic guitar egg. And then love that. Always doing that. And this is so cool. Very nice. I love that. That's my favorite part. You just very slow it's it sounds like the beginning of From the Beginning. Right? By Emerson Lincoln Palmer. And then I like this hammer on. Right. And then slowing down. Beautiful touch to go to the D minor. And then quickly we go back to A minor, but it's the new riff. The strum paddings the strum pattern is very important. Now the chords here are A minor and we go to F. Okay, so that's the minor one to the six. Minor one to the six, and then minor one, so now that riff is just outlining that, right? A minor to the F. And then sorry. That's the seven. That's G. That's the seven. And then we go to the verse, and her vocal like is so like laid back.

We may still have time. We might still get by. Every time I think about it, I wanna cry. With bombs and the devil and the kids keep coming.

SPEAKER_01

No way to breathe easy, no time to be on. Okay, so we're just it's just cool because we just go A minor to C to D minor to E. So we're going. We're like going up the pentatonic scale, but making chords out of it, right? So A minor, C major, D minor, E major. We but the strum pattern, the strum pattern changes, right?

SPEAKER_02

We may still have time. We might still get back. Every time I think about it, I wanna cry.

SPEAKER_01

That's the blues right there.

SPEAKER_02

No kids keep coming. No way to breathe easy, no time to be all.

SPEAKER_01

This is really nice because we go up to A minor here, but then we go. So that's B minor over E. It's like it feels like a nice relief just for that moment. That's so nice. That's just like a little lick playing on B minor. It's like so beautiful, like what a beautiful touch. And then this is cool, nice chords, but I tell myself that I'm doing alright. There's nothing left to do tonight. So this is like a really quick pre-chorus. But I tell myself that's D minor to E minor, and then we got C to F, and then it's D minor again, and it goes back to E, but now it's E major because it's like the major five chord adding way more tension, right? So so first it goes, but I tell my stuff that I'm doing alright. Right here, right when she says like tonight. She's singing, singing the high E tonight, and we're playing E major, but go crazy on you. And now we're back to the chorus.

SPEAKER_02

I love I love like she's just singing like the minor, like I love let me go, let me go, crazy, crazy on you. That like makes a song for me when she goes, Let me go, crazy, crazy on you.

SPEAKER_01

She sings the the six along with the music.

SPEAKER_02

Right, the like the guitar and bass are like playing the six, and she's singing, Oh and then we go to the second verse: My love is the evening breeze touching your skin, the gentle sweet singing of leaves in the wind, the whisper that calls after you in the night, and kisses your ear in the early light.

SPEAKER_01

Back to it And you don't need to wonder, you're doing fine, and my love the pleasures mine let me go crazy on you crazy on you Let me go crazy crazy on you And then and then it goes oh right it goes oh and now right here this reminds me of Californication because it's in A minor and then the solo in Californication by Chili Peppers it it instantly goes to F sharp minor or A major so it goes from A minor to A major, but it starts on the sixth of A major, so it goes to F sharp minor first. It's like the same kind of modulation, same exact keys, right? So crazy on you, and then it goes Instant modulation. It's so nice.

SPEAKER_02

Wild Man's world is crying in pain.

SPEAKER_01

What you gonna do when everybody's insane? Love that. Okay, F sharp minor to D. Okay. C sharp minor. What you gonna do when everybody's insane? So afraid of one who's so afraid of you. What you gonna do? Finally we change. We're gonna B minor seven. And then it lands on beautiful. And then she adds this cool. Really cool uh lick there. A major, nice relief, but then quickly we go to the five chord. And now the member the five wants to go back to A, right? So we're in A major.

unknown

What you gonna do?

SPEAKER_01

A major. And okay, so we go to the five chord. She's always changing the flavor of the five chord. So we go regular E major and then to the sus four. And then we go to the six, and then E seven. And then we go back to A, but we go to A minor. Crazy on you. Crazy on you.

SPEAKER_02

Let me go crazy, crazy on you.

SPEAKER_01

It sounds so like dark when we land back to A minor after being in A major, right? Wild Man's World is crying in pain.

SPEAKER_02

What you gonna do when everybody's insane? I'm so afraid of one who's so afraid of you. What you gonna do? Oh, we want so bad to arrive back to the key.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, A major. And then back to A minor Woo!

SPEAKER_02

Let me go crazy, crazy on here, so good.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's so great. And the final verse is beautiful.

SPEAKER_02

I was a willow last night in my dream.

SPEAKER_01

I bent down over a clear running stream. Sang you a song. Oh, sang you the song.

SPEAKER_02

I sang you the song that I heard up above. And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love!

SPEAKER_01

And you kept me alive with your sweet flowing love. Crazy! Yeah! So good.

SPEAKER_02

Crazy. Let me go crazy, crazy on you.

SPEAKER_01

And then they they go back to the bridge, right? Uh to the F sharp minor to D. And then they do another chorus. The song like keeps going. It's five minutes long. Um, but man, this song is like crazy. Crazy on you, right? All from that intro. So much happens. Thanks for following me along that journey. This song is such an adventure.
